Stony Brook WholeHeartedFoods is one of North America's only artisan makers of culinary oil and seed snacks made from locally grown squash and pumpkins. All of the seeds come from squash grown in New York that is used as whole and pre-cut squash for sale to retail markets.
The seeds are the leftovers from the fresh-cut processing -- Stony Brook takes these leftover seeds and roasts to press them in small batches for oil, or to season and sell as these gourmet Pepitas. No other seeds or oils are added. Seeds are non-GMO and grown using Integrated Pest Management practices.
Pepitas are a heart-healthy and tasty snack or salad topper. Add the Maple Pepitas to your roasted beet and arugula salads, over your baked oatmeal and granola, or over apple crisp with ice cream.
Pepitas are an awesome substitute for nuts in many uses!
