Sopapillas

Ingredients:
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. warm water
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (we suggest mild, for frying)
Lemon Sugar
Coconut White Balsamic


In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and shortening. Stir in water; mix until dough is smooth. Cover and let stand 20 minutes. Roll out on a floured board until 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3 inch squares. Heat oil to 375 degrees. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot sprinkled with Lemon Sugar and a drizzle of reduced Coconut Balsamic.

Note: Feel free to experiment with other flavors of Balsamic!
