1/2 c. almonds
1/2 c. pecans
2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
2 tsp. water
4 tsp. SMAK DAB Mustard (Beer Chipotle or Canadian Maple)
2 tsp. rosemary or thyme, finely chopped
sprinkle of SaltWest Naturals Raincoast Canadian Solar Sea Salt
Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper. In a bowl mix together sugar, water, mustard and herbs. Add nuts and toss to coat evenly. Spread onto the baking sheet, sprinkle generously with sea salt and bake for about 10-15 minutes watching closely to not over bake. Mix nuts lightly halfway through. You will know when it is done the sugar will be crusty and caramelized.
Note: Make these nuts ahead and they will keep for weeks in a sealed container. Play around with different nuts, herbs, spices and mustard for your own unique flavour.
