Winkler Update: Resolutions and Best Ever Chili
“Be intentional, one step at a time…”
I love January! After the busyness and rush of the holidays it's so nice to slow down and take inventory of what lies ahead for the New Year and set some goals that will be achievable.
I’m not talking about New Year’s resolutions that never seem to last more than a few days or weeks at best. I prefer to go with being intentional about something and then just doing the next thing. Taking that next step. If I mess up or fall short of my goal, instead of getting discouraged and throwing in the towel I remind myself that I can start again the next day. And the next… And be intentional about it!
January is the perfect time to enjoy some comfort food or spicy chilli. I like it spicy, so I always add Red Cayenne Olive Oil, then some Garlic Olive Oil and--thanks to Ginny, Manager at the Steinbach store--some Dark Chocolate Balsamic at the end. It was delicious! I made up my own recipe, but only then did I find out we have a recipe for this wonderful Best Ever Chili on our website that uses these exact flavours! Click here to try it out!
January is also the perfect time to clean and organize your space. Maybe start a new hobby or finish an old one. I’m actually really good at starting new things, but don’t do so well in finishing what I’ve started. So, at the top of my “to do” list for this year is to finish some old projects before I start anything new! The first one being a family history book that my sister and I have been working on for four winters. What a laborious task that has been but one that will be well worth the effort! We are in the last few months of that project and when it’s done I will breathe a huge sigh of relief!
We hosted our annual Customer Appreciation Day on Jan. 21 with great sales, a table of delicious food for you to enjoy and the chance to win a beautiful gift pack! Congratulations to Eva Stevenson who won a Prairie Oils gift pack by guessing how many pour spouts we had in a large vase. How fun!
